Testing LEDs and diodes safely

I've definitely had my share of mishaps with LEDs, so these days, I'm all about testing them safely.
What's your favorite way to check LEDs and diodes without risking a burnout?
Do you have any handy tools or tips that make the process both safe and straightforward?

Figured out that using a multimeter and a small resistor to test LEDs really helps me keep things in check. It’s a simple trick that's saved me from ruining a few LEDs, and I wouldn’t do it any other way
