anyone replaced the toroid in series x psu?

Cracked open a dead Series X power supply and found the problem: a toroid/common mode choke broke off the board. Great. It's marked 37-pa13210607, but LiteOn won't sell replacements, and of course the label doesn't actually tell you the specs like a capacitor would.

I measured it out (22x20x10mm, ~7.3mH, 0.3Ω), but good luck finding an exact drop-in. Seems like one of those parts that's intentionally hard to source so you end up buying a whole new PSU. Anybody here actually manage to replace one of these, or is the game plan just harvesting from another busted supply?

I had the same problem last year with a broken power supply from a friend's Series X. The choke broke off too. I couldn't find the exact part, so I took one from an old HP printer board that looked close. It wasn't perfect, but the console turned on again.

If you just want it working and don't mind if it's not perfect, using parts from old electronics can help. Just check that the size and numbers are close.

If you're swapping out the toroid/common mode choke in your Series X power supply, try a similar toroidal choke inductor. Getting an exact match can be tough, but a close one should do the trick. Aim for a toroidal choke with about the same size and inductance. A 3mH toroidal choke coil inductor might work, but you might need to tweak the wiring to make it fit right.
