Hey, I'm wondering, for peeps just getting started with simple automation stuff, what's the easiest microcontroller to kick things off with? Is it the Arduino, ESP32, or something else entirely?

I'm all ears for your recommendations!

Okay, so I began with an Arduino Uno, and honestly that's where things just clicked. It's pretty forgiving and there are tons of guides out there. A great way to get started.

Tried the ESP32. I used it for a small smart-home project and having Wi-Fi built-in was great. It was a bit trickier to learn at the beginning but it turned out being worthwhile.

I jumped around a bit at first but mostly used the Arduino Nano for my first projects. They're cheap, tiny, and fine for basic automations without making me feel lost.
