Capacitive touch in the cold

Have you ever been outside in freezing temperatures, taken off your gloves, and tried to use a control, only to find that the sensor is acting all wonky? It’s frustrating, right? Have you experienced drift or errors with capacitive touch when it’s cold, and if so, how did you handle it?

Oh man, happened to me too. Was tweaking a machine panel in winter took off my gloves and the sensor went nuts. Had to warm up my hands before it worked again.

Had a similar thing happen one chilly morning trying to use my phone. The screen was all over the place. I ended up using a cheap stylus I had until I could get back inside. Worked like a charm

Was messing with a control box in my freezing garage one night, and the touch thingy wouldn’t work right. Every tap went haywire. What I did was keep a little heat gun close to warm the panel a bit, and wore thin gloves that worked with touch screens. It let me get the job done without losing my mind.
