I'm looking for some simple ways to find broken parts without needing fancy equipment. I'm mainly thinking about tracing signals, looking for clues, and using basic meter tricks. Any ideas?

For finding problems, a multimeter and checking if things are connected can be a big help. See if there are any voltage drops or breaks in the circuit. Also, don't forget to wiggle things around, it's a great way to find those problems that only happen sometimes.

I’d recommend using a simple continuity tester with a sound feature, it really helps speed up the process of finding dead leads. And don’t forget about thermal indicators, a budget-friendly infrared thermometer can help you identify any overheating components that could be on the verge of failing.
