How do you keep your schematics organized as they grow?

Lately, mine are starting to resemble a spider web, and I’m struggling to keep track of everything. Any advice on how to maintain readability when they become huge? I’d love to hear your tips!

I faced the same struggle last year when my notes looked like a tangled mess. Breaking them into sections and using colors really helped out. Even a chaotic layout can be sorted with a bit of organization

I once attempted to cram everything onto one massive mind map, and it turned into total chaos. Dividing it into smaller, linked sections makes it way easier to follow and eliminates that frustrating spider web feeling.

Back when I was working, D-sized drawings were the norm. Even my microprocessor-based designs fit on them, although most bus lines ended up being combined into a single line for the trip across the page, then fanned out at the ends.

These days, my designs are simpler - they’re for me, and rarely involve anything that complex. 8-1/2 by 11 (A-sized) in my notebook usually works fine. If there’s more than that, break separate functions apart and label the connections between.
