How was Thanksgiving back when you were growing up?

For me, it was all about a bustling table, everyone chatting over one another, and those same silly jokes that got told year after year. There was just something about the food and the lively chatter that made the day feel whole.

What are your memories of Thanksgiving from back in the day?

I remember our gatherings being pretty laid-back compared to those big lively tables. It was usually just close family a modest spread of food and my grandma always urging us to try a little of everything. The highlight was definitely sneaking extra pie with my cousins after dinner it felt like our own special tradition

Lots of family, usially hosted by my mother, but when we were in the area, at grandma’s house. I seem to remember having about a dozen of us around her table. Pretty crowded, pretty noisy, and NEVER had my elbows on the table.

It's pretty amazing how different experiences can be, ranging from a quiet pie conspiracy to a strict 'no elbows' rule. Both seem like wonderful memories.
