How you unwind after a day of tinkering

You know those evenings when you’ve spent hours in the shop, your hands are all greasy, tools are everywhere, and your mind is still buzzing from the project? Everyone has their own way to unwind after that. For some, it’s curling up with a movie, for others, it’s gaming or diving into a good book. Maybe you just like to sit back with a drink.

What’s your go-to way to relax after a long day of tinkering?

I like to chill with a cold one outside after those long evenings at the shop. When I was in Nevada, staring at the desert sky really cleared my head.

I'd wrap up late fixing tractors, my hands all greasy. I'd throw on some classic rock while I cleaned up it helped me relax.

When I first got into motorcycles, I’d lose track of time fiddling with parts until I was completely worn out. To unwind, I’d whip up a simple meal, letting the sounds of the world fade away as the aromas filled the kitchen.

If my tinkering resulted in a finished project, I’d play with it, calling it “testing.”

If there was still work to be done, I usually listened to an album in my big tinkering project, my home theater.
