is fritzing the right tool?

I've been doing hobby projects (HAM radio, balloons) for years, laying out circuits on good old graph paper. I'm wondering if I should switch to fritzing? I don't care about making PCBs. I just want a digital way to plan component placement, pin locations, and wiring on a protoboard before I build it.
Is fritzing the tool for this, even if I have to manually create the modules I use? Or is there a simpler software that just focuses on physical layout and easy component shuffling?

When I was planning out balloon tracker circuits, I got tired of erasing lines on paper. I Tried Fritzing, and while it’s more for PCB design, the breadboard view is useful for moving parts around digitally. It’s not perfect, but it's better than redrawing every time you move a wire.

I used graph paper forever too switched to Fritzing mainly for fast protoboard layouts. It’s good enough, if you don’t care about PCBs.
