King Crimson - 'Larks Tongue In Aspic' Blu Ray

The 2 CD/2 Blu Ray disc box set on Amazon is amazing. I "did not know" that a Blu Ray disc contains roughly 40 hours of CD-quality audio. I found this out by not seeing any song length records on the box or disc. Originally, there was an 15 CD box set with almost 11 hours of audio. That has been placed on the 2-Blu Ray discs of the latest box set. I always wondered who would sit through all 15 discs of this great album.

I can't even imagine what the King Crimson '1969' Box Set is like with 26 discs (Blu Ray/DVD/CD).

Blu-ray audio discs have the capability to store far more than just 40 hours of CD-quality audio; they can actually manage around 7 to 8 hours per disc, depending on the compression used. The two-disc set probably employs lossless compression methods like FLAC or DTS-HD Master Audio to effectively accommodate that 11-hour catalog.

The King Crimson '1969' box set, is mainly designed for collectors who want every alternate take, live performance, and studio session from that period. It's not really meant for listening all the way through in one go.
