Looking ahead at the small wins in 2026

As I look ahead to 2026, I’ve been reflecting on what really excites me. Surprisingly, it’s not the big tech advancements or flashy innovations. Instead, it’s the little things like more free weekends, fun side projects, and just taking life at a slower pace. What about you? Is there something small that you’re looking forward to in 2026?

Yeah, I feel you. I'm really looking forward to some chill Saturdays where I can mess around in the garage without feeling like I'm on the clock.

This past year was crazy busy, so I'm all about keeping things simple. I want more quiet mornings, time to wrap up those little projects I've been putting off, and maybe just some weekends where I don't have a single thing to do. That'd make 2026 awesome.

Every January I'd go after these huge goals, but lately, the little wins are what make me happy. For 2026, I'm hoping to cook more dinners, get my shop in order, and just enjoy life instead of always rushing.

Lots of little things on the list, so I’ll really be glad when I get the CV joint boot replaced on the VW, and especially when I ger the brakes so they don’t scrape. FWIW, it’s. ot an adjustment. I replaced the back plate with an aftermarket part, and I’m pretty sure the dents that keep the shoes away from the back plate ate too deep, so the edge of the shoes contact the drum plate. Grinding or filing a bit should get ‘er done.

Put some hooks in the garage ceiling to hold the Christmas light frames I’ll take down today. Not rocket science, but they have to clear the garage door.

Hopefully, both done in January.
