Looking for a better terminal emulator for Windows

I'm looking for a different terminal emulator for Windows because I'm finding PuTTY to be a bit limited for what I need. I'm trying to find one that can do a few things PuTTY doesn't seem to do. For example, I need it to use different colors for text I send and text I receive. I also need it to show control characters and to be able to send a text file to the serial port. I remember Windows used to have a basic tool for this, but I can't find it anymore. I've also tried searching for a "serial port monitor" but those seem to be for a different purpose. Does anyone know a good terminal emulator that has these features?

try Tera Term. It's a free and open source terminal emulator that's perfect for all of that. It lets you color code sent and received text, can display control characters, and has a built in file send function. It's the standard for this kind of work, and it's a much more powerful tool for serial ports than PuTTY.

I can suggest Van Dyke's CRT which i have used for 20+ years.
