Need advice please

I have had many SQ, QS and CD-4 LPs since the 70s. I wish to import my quadraphonic music into my computer. Has anyone done this? What sound card allows four channel input? Will Audacity record four channels at the same time?

On another note, I have DTS and SACD multichannel DVDs that I wish to play thru my computer. Need advice on proper CD/DVD drive that is also A CD/DVD burner. Many thanks!

Unfortunately, SACDs seem to be impossible to play through PC disc players. There are many DVD players that can be used to rip the disc, creating DSD files that can be played with the right software.

yeah, quadraphonicquad is a very big info place and I found there a lot, also barfle...

As for me, I use a focusrite or tascam analog to usb mixer for my SQ and CD4. Recording with Audacity 4ch or 6ch is easy, but at first a bit tricky. use Audacitys "repair" function for cleaning! (2ch nativ is easier to edit than 4ch)
For the CD-4 I grap the whole signal after the MM-amp with 192/24 and play that CD-4 flac's (30kHz) back at the same place from Fantec, Icy or Dune media player - works well. (recording 192/24 from higher than Win-XP is blocked)
MSI computers can do it also, up to 7.1ch no problems. (MSI's are mostly used by gamers because they are fast, but those people need always a newer and faster one, selling their old for cheap.)
How many CD-4 do you have for recording?

I don’t record my quadraphonic vinyl to hard drive, I just play it all analog, much like I did in the 70s. I have ripped several CDs to hard drive FLAC files using Goldwave, which is capable with just about every non-DSD or Atmos file format out there. It can record up to 8 channels, but of course it needs the right hardware to input that many channels.
