Real tree or fake tree for Christmas?

Every year, as we gear up for Christmas, the question of whether to choose a real or fake tree comes up in our family. Some of us are drawn to the lovely scent and tradition of a real tree, while others appreciate the convenience of a fake one. What’s your preference, and why?

Had real trees growing up, so the smell always brings back good memories. But now that I'm in charge of setting things up, I gotta say, the convenience of a fake tree is tempting each year.

We got real trees for most of my childhood, and I loved the tradition of picking one out. But once I moved to a smaller place, a fake tree just seemed smarter. No needles all over, no watering, and it still feels festive enough

Used to be all about real trees because my family made a day of picking one, and that memory stuck with me. But I switched to a fake tree a few years ago after dealing with a dried-out one that dropped needles constantly and almost fell over. Now I kind of like the easy setup, even if I miss that pine smell a bit.

Still doing real trees. It took getting a really good stand about a decade ago before I really felt I wasn’t creating a fire hazard.

The only issue is storing the thing. It’s almost 18” in diameter and 6” high, with a big water reservoir.

It's always good to hear people are sticking with real trees. There's just something about keeping that old tradition alive.
