The fix that made it worse

So, a buddy of mine thought he could fix a leaking valve in no time. He was really sure of himself until the shed turned into a mini swimming pool.

Have you ever had a repair job go completely wrong?

You know there was this one time I thought I'd fix a radiator hose on the go with some tape. What a disaster that turned out to be! I ended up spraying coolant all over the place and making a much bigger mess than the leak I started with.

I was remodeling our laundry room one weekend, and sweat-soldering a bunch of copper pipe connections. When I went to turn the water back on, the valve broke in my hands.

Fortunately, the water company came out at 9PM on Sunday, but we didn’t have any water for another day, because I had to go to work on Monday, so the valve replacement didn’t happen until Monday evening. No pressure, in more ways than one!

Haha, it seems like you’ve all taken a quick fix and turned it into a complete disaster at some point. I really enjoy these stories they might have been tough to deal with back then but great to laugh about now.
