I've got an old Baldwin organ from the early 70s I'm trying to restore for my granddaughter. The top octave synthesizer IC is useless already, and it looks like it was based on the 50240. Are any companies still making these chips, or is it all NOS or clones now? I haven't had luck sourcing one yet.

The 50240 IC isn't made anymore, so youre mostly looking at NOS, used parts or modern clones. They can be a bit tough to find, but sometimes pop up on ebay or in synth. There are some clone options out there, but they might need a bit of tweaking to fit your circuit. Keep checking places like Small Bear, Tayda or vintage audio groups for leads.
