KRP-500PW voltage reg issue?

My Pioneer Kuro KRP-500PW suddenly died. Thinking it might be a bad voltage regulator?

Pioneer Kuros often run into problems because of power supply issues. It's a good idea to check the voltage regulator modules on the power board, as they tend to bulge or leak when they go bad. Don't forget to look for blown fuses and swollen capacitors on the power supply board as well. The way the standby light reacts when you hit the power button can give you a better idea of what's wrong. While these problems can be fixed, you'll need to replace some components on the board.

Pioneer Kuro plasma displays often fail due to power supply board issues, specifically bad capacitors rather than just voltage regulators. Check for bulging or leaking capacitors on the PSU board first.

If you're comfortable with electronics repair, inspect the SU, SS, and SC boards for obvious failures. Otherwise, specialized plasma repair services can diagnose and fix these boards more accurately than guessing components.
